Veliko Tarnovo Veliko Tarnovo is located in Central Bulgaria, at the foot of the Stara Planina Mountain. The town is situated at 210 m above sea level and has a population of 74 800 residents. The town rises above the historic Tzarevets, Trapezitsa and Sveta Gora hills and the picturesque meanders of the Yantra River. Veliko Tarnovo is at almost equal distances from all major Bulgarian cities. It is 220 km northeast of Sofia, 230 km southwest of Varna, 175 km northeast of Plovdiv and 220 km northwest of Bourgas. |
